Meet Craig Phelps
Co-Founder & Lead Designer
Craig has owned and operated his own landscape company since 1984, bringing more than 40 years of hands-on experience in residential landscape design, construction, and project management. Based in the San Francisco Bay Area for much of his career, he has worked on everything from small residential improvements to million-dollar custom landscape projects.
Throughout his career, Craig has been personally involved in every stage of the process, including design, estimating, layout, crew direction, subcontractor coordination, and final project oversight. That depth of experience has given him a trained eye for how homes, landscapes, pathways, plants, and outdoor living spaces all work together.
With Haven Landscape Lighting, Craig brings that same craftsmanship and attention to detail to Utah homeowners, helping create lighting designs that feel natural, intentional, and built around the way each family actually uses their outdoor space.

Before starting Haven Landscape Lighting with his dad, Craig worked in digital marketing, helping companies build their marketing systems, customer experience, and growth efforts from the ground up. While he enjoyed helping other businesses grow, he always felt drawn to building something of his own, especially after seeing the opportunity his father’s landscape company created for their family growing up.
That experience gave Craig a deep appreciation for small business, hard work, and the value of doing work you can stand behind. After years spent mostly behind a desk, he was excited by the chance to get outside, work with his hands, talk with homeowners, and help create outdoor spaces families can actually enjoy together.
With Haven Landscape Lighting, Craig helps guide the customer experience while also staying involved in the field. From the first conversation to the final installation, his focus is on making the process feel clear, thoughtful, and personal for every homeowner.
